Floyd Robinson, owner of PPS South, on working with Praxis

The situation

Where it started

Taylor working through the business with Floyd Robinson of PPS South
Taylor and Floyd working through the business, two days a week

PPS South was growing fast, and Floyd was the business. He was on the tools by day and quoting at night, and every decision came back to him. Most of the work came through a handful of letting-agent relationships. Files, tasks and numbers lived in different places, and there was no weekly view of whether the business was on track.

Floyd didn't need more work. He needed the business to stop depending on him for everything, so he could lead it.

What was really going on

The bottleneck wasn't the team or the market. It was that every quote, decision and job ran through one person, with nothing written down for anyone else to pick up.

What we did

Built with them, step by step

01

Systems built for a fast-moving business

PPS South is fast-paced and reactive, so a laptop-only system was never going to work. We built an organised workspace and task manager around how they actually work: it runs as an app on everyone's phone, and it's created, automated and improved through AI. Updates, comments and new jobs can all be done by voice through Claude, and land in the task manager instantly for every department.

02

Roles and authority

Clear role documents for the team and an authority framework: what the team decides alone, what they check, and what Floyd decides. Then a daily rhythm, with a morning team call and a written handover to Floyd.

03

A sales engine, built on the right services

A CRM and a target list of more than 30 letting agents to start. Then we went further: we looked at every service PPS offers by profit margin, how repeatable it is and how easy it is to recruit and train for. Handyman and reactive work, and painting and decorating, came out on top, so we built the revenue flywheel around them.

04

Self-learning AI quoting

A quote-building database the whole team now uses. Every quote and every approval teaches it something: it prices jobs better, factors in material costs and gets smarter with each one. Quotes chase themselves at day 3 and day 7.

05

From domestic to commercial

An outreach plan that goes well beyond letting agents: block managers, facilities management firms and insurance companies, with pitch decks, leave-behinds and meetings in the diary. A business that was mostly domestic is now going after larger, more repeatable commercial work.

06

Recruitment and the team

Job adverts, screening, interviews and onboarding, plus a subcontractor network with its own onboarding pack and options for office support. The team is being built around the work, so Floyd can build himself out of it.

The outcome

Where they are now

  • The business no longer runs on Floyd's memory
  • The whole team updates one task manager from their phones, even by voice
  • Quotes priced by a system that gets smarter with every job
  • A sales pipeline into block management, facilities and insurance work
  • Two core services, and a team being built around them
  • Floyd moving from the tools to leading the business

We're still working with PPS South every week, and support continues into 2027.
